Sky Fest 2026 Brings Hot Air Balloons to Sand Hollow Resort

Southern Utah's Sky Fest returns February 7 at Sand Hollow Resort with morning balloon launches, evening glow dinner, and red rock backdrop photography opportunities.

January 28, 2026 — Sky Fest 2026 returns to Sand Hollow Resort in Hurricane on February 7, bringing hot air balloons, fine dining, and spectacular visual displays to one of Southern Utah's most stunning resort settings.

The festival transforms the Sand Hollow Resort Golf Course into a celebration of flight set against the region's iconic red rock landscape. Morning sessions feature hot air balloon launches that fill the horizon with color and movement, while the evening Glow Dinner offers a unique dining experience with tethered balloons illuminated after dark.

Morning and Evening Experiences

Sky Fest offers two distinct experiences within a single day. The morning program begins at 7:00 AM with balloon inflation and launches as the sun rises over the desert landscape. Photographers and spectators can watch as colorful balloons ascend against the red rock formations that define Southern Utah's visual identity.

The evening Glow Dinner transitions the festival into a nighttime spectacle. Tethered balloons are inflated and illuminated with periodic burner blasts, creating dramatic light displays against the darkening sky. The dinner component pairs the visual spectacle with cuisine, ambient lighting, and an atmosphere unlike any other dining experience in the region.

Balloon Festivals in Southern Utah

Sky Fest joins the growing calendar of balloon events in the St. George area, which has become a destination for hot air balloon enthusiasts drawn by the region's favorable winter weather and dramatic landscape. The Up and Away Hot Air Balloon Festival at Staheli Family Farm in January and Sky Fest in February provide back-to-back opportunities to experience hot air ballooning in Southern Utah.

Planning Your Visit

Sand Hollow Resort is located in Hurricane, approximately 20 minutes from downtown St. George. Early arrival is recommended for morning launches, as the best viewing positions fill quickly.
