Cox Climate Control

In Southern Utah's desert climate, most HVAC professionals recommend a professional tune-up once a year, ideally in spring before the first stretch of triple-digit weather. St. George systems run far longer and harder each season than the national average, and blowing dust loads filters and coils faster, so annual maintenance is closer to a minimum than a luxury here. Cox Climate Control provides air conditioning maintenance across Washington County.

When a system runs without keeping up during a St. George summer, common causes include a clogged filter or dirty condenser coil, low refrigerant from a leak, a failing capacitor or compressor, leaking ductwork in a hot attic, or a system that is simply undersized for the load. Because several of these look identical from the thermostat, diagnosis usually requires measuring pressures and airflow. Cox Climate Control offers air conditioning repair and emergency HVAC service.

Yes. Cox Climate Control is a licensed and insured family-owned HVAC and refrigeration contractor holding Utah contractor license #13786146-5501. The company serves residential and commercial customers throughout Washington County and Iron County, Utah.

Cox Climate Control services commercial refrigeration for restaurants, food service businesses, and other commercial operations in St. George and across Southern Utah, covering refrigeration maintenance, repair, and full replacement. Reliable refrigeration is a food-safety requirement as well as an operational one, which is why commercial work is handled separately from residential HVAC.

Ductless mini splits are a common solution in Southern Utah for additions, garages, casitas, converted spaces, and older homes where extending ductwork is impractical. They allow room-by-room temperature control, which helps in houses where west-facing rooms overheat in the afternoon. Cox Climate Control installs mini split systems in St. George and the surrounding communities.
