What is Bare Foot Gymnastics?

Bare Foot Gymnastics and Montessori is a family-run gymnastics club and Montessori school at 476 E Riverside Drive in St. George, Utah. Founded in 1994, when St. George had no gymnastics gym, it offers recreational gymnastics from 18 months to 17 years, tumbling, Ninja Warrior classes, a USA Gymnastics competitive team, birthday parties and summer camps, plus a Montessori preschool and early elementary program.

Cathy and Barney started the gym after moving from Boise; their daughter Ashley, a former Level 10 gymnast, and her husband Caleb Phillips, a former NCAA assistant coach at Southern Utah University, Iowa and Washington, now run it. Gymnasts do train barefoot, as in any gymnastics gym, which is where the name comes from.

What classes does Bare Foot Gymnastics offer?

Recreational classes run from Parent Tot (18 months to 3 years) and Mini-Squirts (ages 3 to 5) through Mini Gym levels 1 to 5 for ages 5 and up, with 45- to 80-minute classes on weekday afternoons and evenings. There are beginning, intermediate and advanced tumbling classes, and Ninja Warrior classes from age 3 on a course with an 8-foot warped wall. Register through the online iClassPro parent portal.
