Zion Adventure Company is a locally owned technical outdoor outfitter, canyoneering school, and trailhead shuttle service located at 36 Lion Blvd in Springdale, Utah, founded in February 1996 by managing partner Rick Praetzel right at Springdale Shuttle Stop #3.

Three decades ago, Rick Praetzel founded Zion Adventure Company and helped pioneer modern technical footwear and drysuit systems specifically engineered for hiking the Virgin River Narrows and descending the sandstone slot canyons of the Colorado Plateau. Today, the outfitter equips thousands of hikers each season with high-grip canyoneering boots, neoprene socks, dry bibs, full drysuits, and hardwood walking sticks, while its professional guide staff leads half-day and full-day technical canyoneering, rock climbing, and backcountry hiking trips across Greater Zion.

• Zion Narrows Gear Rentals: Specialized canyoneering boots, neoprene socks, wooden walking sticks, dry pants, dry bibs, and cold-water drysuits.


• Guided Canyoneering & Rock Climbing Courses: Beginner-friendly to advanced technical slot canyon rappelling courses and private climbing instruction.


• Backcountry Trailhead Shuttles: Daily scheduled and private shuttles to Chamberlain's Ranch (Top-Down Narrows), West Rim Trail (Lava Point), Hop Valley, and Kolob Reservoir.


• Technical Gear Shop & Hot Showers: Full retail store carrying packs, harnesses, ropes, maps, and public coin-operated hot showers.

Situated at 36 Lion Blvd just off Zion Park Boulevard near Deep Creek Coffee Company and Zion Guru, Zion Adventure Company is open seven days a week from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM as an institution among Southern Utah tours and adventures outfitters.
