Dragon's Tail Stair Climb Challenge 2027

The City of St. George's Dragon's Tail Stair Climb Challenge returns to the Tech Ridge Staircase, on South Tech Ridge Parkway near Dixie Technical College in St. George, on Saturday, January 16, 2027, with an opening endurance event the evening before. The city lists four categories: a 5K or 1K run/walk (7:30 a.m.), a Sprint Challenge (9 a.m.), an Endurance Challenge (10 a.m.) and the Knights Quest, a six-hour challenge on a 1K stair loop that starts at 6 p.m. Friday, January 15. Every course finishes up the 333-step Dragon's Tail staircase, which is closed to non-participants during the races. Packet pickup is Friday, January 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hangar on Tech Ridge, 475 Donlee Dr, with morning-of pickup available for a $10 charge. Strollers are not allowed. The city's page still shows pricing tiers from last year's deadlines, so check the registration page for current prices. For last year's race, see our Dragon's Tail guide, and for the same weekend's festival, the Up and Away Balloon Festival.
