About This Event
Washington City's annual Christmas in Dixie tree lighting ceremony is held at Veterans Park on the first Monday after Thanksgiving, which in 2026 is Monday, November 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. The city hands out free hot cocoa and donuts while they last, and wagon rides run to the Covington Home, where kids can visit Santa. It is the same night as St. George's Kickoff to Christmas at Town Square, so families can pick one or stop by both.
