Good morning, Southern Utah, and happy Tuesday. The last full week of August arrives warm and bright, with downtown thermometers climbing toward 105 degrees under mostly sunny skies and only a slim chance of a stray afternoon thunderstorm. Save a little energy for the cooler evening hours, when stages light up from the Cedar City festival grounds to the red rock canyon in Ivins. Here is where the community is gathering today.

Tonight in St. George

Final night of the season

Tonight is the last Tabernacle Tuesdays concert of the summer. If you have been meaning to go all season, this is it.

Tabernacle Tuesdays Concert — 7:00 PM

Tabernacle Tuesdays closes out its beloved free summer run tonight at the historic St. George Tabernacle, 18 S Main Street in St. George. The Tabernacle's renowned acoustics have carried local musicians, choirs, and ensembles through the whole season, and admission is free.

Tonight in Ivins

Disney's Finding Nemo: The Musical — 8:30 PM

A family favorite under the stars. Disney's Finding Nemo: The Musical brings the Pixar characters to life through puppetry, dance, and original songs at Tuacahn Amphitheatre, 1100 Tuacahn Drive in Ivins. The canyon cools off considerably after sunset — an easy way to beat the heat.

Cox Climate Control — reliable HVAC and refrigeration service for Southern Utah homes and businesses. On a 105-degree day, the air conditioner earns its keep.

Today in Cedar City: The Utah Shakespeare Festival

Five performances run in Cedar City today, including two accessibility performances — an ASL-interpreted matinee and an audio-described evening show.

She Loves Me — 2:00 PM (ASL-interpreted)

A special ASL-interpreted matinee of She Loves Me, the sweet enemies-to-lovers musical set in a 1930s European parfumerie, at the Randall L. Jones Theatre.

The Book Club Play — 2:00 PM

The Book Club Play, Karen Zacarías's witty comedy about a book club that unravels on camera, plays the intimate Eileen & Allen Anes Studio Theatre.

The Greenshow: Stratford Night — 7:10 PM

Free outdoor music, dance, and storytelling on the Festival Green before the evening plays. Tonight's rotation is Stratford Night — thirty minutes, no ticket required, and a great way to start the evening.

See How They Run — 8:00 PM

Philip King's fast, door-slamming British farce, See How They Run, sends an English vicarage into comic chaos at the Randall L. Jones Theatre.

Hamlet — 8:00 PM (audio-described)

A special audio-described performance of Hamlet, Shakespeare's great tragedy of grief, madness, and revenge, staged under the open sky at the Engelstad Shakespeare Theatre.
