What is Papa's Got Jerk?

Papa's Got Jerk is a Jamaican food business in St. George, Utah, run by Cheryl Walker-Ashcraft, who grew up in Jamaica and named it for her late father. It serves jerk chicken and pork, curry goat, oxtail, beef patties and plantains from a food truck, and also caters and sells weekly ready-made meals called Irie Eats. Its Red Cliffs Drive restaurant closed in April 2026, so the truck is now the place to find it.

She and her father started serving at local festivals in 2011, and she opened the restaurant at The Shoppes at Zion in 2021, calling it the first Jamaican food place in Southern Utah. When the storefront closed, she told St George News: "The brick and mortar is closed, but we're still here."

Where is the Papa's Got Jerk food truck?

The truck moves around Southern Utah, so there is no fixed address or set hours. Papa's Got Jerk posts its stops on Instagram and Facebook at @papasgotjerkstg; in October 2026 its schedule included the Kayenta Art Festival, the Huntsman World Senior Games and farmers markets. Do not go to the old Red Cliffs Drive storefront, which is closed.
