What is the St George City Pool?

The St George City Pool, officially the St. George Municipal Pool, is the city's outdoor summer pool at 250 E 700 S, a few blocks south of downtown. It has the 330-foot Hydro-Abyss water slide, two diving boards, a pool from 3 to 12 feet deep, a fenced toddler pool, lap swimming and concessions. It is open from late May to Labor Day; the 2026 season ended September 7.

The pool opened in the mid-1970s, and the city rebuilt its deck, drains and walls over the winter of 2024 to 2025 before reopening it on Memorial Day 2025 for its 50th summer. From fall to spring, St. George swimmers use the indoor Sand Hollow Aquatic Center instead, covered further down this page.

Is the St George City Pool open now?

No. The outdoor City Pool is seasonal, and its posted 2026 season ran from May 22 to September 7. It reopens around Memorial Day; the city posts the new season dates on its City Pool page in spring. For swimming between September and May, go to the Sand Hollow Aquatic Center, the city's indoor pool at 1144 N 2400 W, which is open year-round except Sundays.
