The Falls Event Center was a wedding and event venue in St. George, Utah, known for an open-vendor policy that let hosts bring their own caterers, photographers and decorators. It closed in April 2019 when its parent company was liquidated, but it still appears in search results and on some directory sites as if it were open. This page explains what happened and lists the St. George venues that take bookings today. Checked against news reports and listings on October 11, 2026.

What is The Falls Event Center?

The Falls Event Center was a wedding and event venue at 170 S Mall Drive in St. George, Utah, that opened in August 2013 with about 11,000 square feet of indoor space, seven rooms and terraced gardens, and an open-vendor policy. It closed at the end of April 2019 after its parent company went bankrupt. It no longer takes bookings, and any directory page that lists it as open is out of date.

Why did The Falls Event Center close?

The Falls Event Center LLC, the Draper, Utah company behind eight venues in five states, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July 2018 and was later liquidated. In April 2019 the St. George venue announced on Facebook that it would close at the end of the month and that the Mall Drive building would be sold; the Salt Lake Tribune reported that couples and vendors were still owed money. The company's founder settled a related SEC case.

The St. George center held a going-away party on April 27, 2019. The company's website has since gone offline, Yelp marks the venue closed, and no new events have been listed at the address. We found no public record naming a new operator at 170 S Mall Drive, so if you have a booking contract from the old company, it is with a liquidated business.

Where can I book an event in St. George instead?

For receptions and corporate events of the size The Falls handled (up to about 350 guests), St. George's main options are the Dixie Convention Center for large groups, Town Square and the Historic Town Square area downtown for outdoor events, and private venues such as Koral Kafe & Entertainment in Washington and Eagle Mountain Ranch in Gunlock. Hotels and golf clubs also host receptions; see our wedding and event guides below.

What The Falls offered, for comparison

Old listings describe four levels of landscaped gardens with waterfalls and desert views, indoor seating for 270 at a reception or 365 theater-style, a 1.5-acre garden for 280 seated or 400 theater-style, two caterer's kitchens, a board room, a game room and a bride's room, with projector, screens, tables, chairs and linens included and any vendor allowed. If that is the kind of package you want, ask the venues above what they include and whether outside caterers are permitted; most hotel ballrooms require in-house catering.

Is The Falls Event Center in St. George still open?

No. It closed at the end of April 2019 and has not reopened under that name.

What is at 170 S Mall Drive now?

The 2003 office-style building was put up for sale by the bankruptcy trustee in 2019. We found no public record of its current occupant, so we do not list one.

The company ran eight centers in Utah, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and New Hampshire. The trustee sold or closed them after the 2018 bankruptcy; none operates under the old company.
