Five County Hazard Mitigation Plan Open for Comment Through Nov. 2: What It Says About Washington and Iron Counties

The Five County Association of Governments' draft 2027-2032 natural hazard mitigation plan is open for public comment Oct. 20 through Nov. 2, 2026. It covers 14 hazards, from drought and extreme heat to wildfire, flooding and earthquakes, for every participating community in Washington and Iron counties.

UDOT Zion Fiber Project: One-Way Traffic in Springdale and Paving West of the Zion Tunnel (October 2026)

UDOT is laying more than 130 miles of fiber along SR-9, US 89 and SR-20. Expect one-way traffic in Springdale and daytime paving west of the Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel through about Oct. 22. Here is where crews are working and when the project wraps up.
