Gooseberry Epic

The Gooseberry Epic, an Intermountain Cup endurance mountain bike race, runs on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from the Gooseberry Mesa Trailhead in Apple Valley, east of Hurricane. The course links Gooseberry Mesa's slickrock with the Wire Mesa trail. Full-distance riders cover one 41.8-mile lap starting at 8 a.m., and half-distance riders start a 19.3-mile lap from 8:30 a.m.; full-distance riders must reach the White Trailhead aid station at mile 33 by 1 p.m. The race is USA Cycling sanctioned and capped at 300 riders. Registration ranges from $175 for half-distance categories to $275 for a full-distance relay and closes November 6. Early packet pickup is Friday, November 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Red Rock Bicycle in Hurricane, with on-site pickup at the start line from 7 to 8:30 a.m. on race day.
