Washington City Veterans Day Parade and Program

Washington City holds its Veterans Day celebration every year on November 11, moving it only when the date lands on a Sunday. The city's Veterans Day page lists 11 a.m. at Veterans Park on Telegraph Street, with a parade down Telegraph Street and a short program right after. Groups that want to march can use the parade entry form linked from the city's page.

The city has not posted a 2026 program or speaker list, so call Washington City at (435) 656-6300 to confirm details before you go. Veterans Park is at 75 E Telegraph St, and the parade route along Telegraph makes nearby street parking tight, so arrive early. Washington City also holds its Pearl Harbor and USS Utah Remembrance at Heritage Hall on December 7.

Utah Tech University Veterans Day Commemoration

Utah Tech's Veterans and Military Services office lists its Veterans Day Commemoration 2026 for Wednesday, November 11, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Campus Veterans Memorial. The office describes it as a ceremony honoring living and deceased veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces who served honorably in war or peacetime. The afternoon start makes it possible to attend the Washington City parade in the morning and still get to campus.

The day before, Tuesday, November 10, the office is marking the Marine Corps birthday with cake in the campus Veteran Lounge from noon to 2 p.m.

The St. George Area Chamber of Commerce's November Tabernacle schedule lists the Snow Canyon Middle School Choir at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, as a Veterans Day tribute honoring military members, first responders and their families. Like every Tabernacle event this month, it is free to the public. The Tabernacle is at 18 S Main St in downtown St. George.

Two more Tabernacle programs that week have military ties. On Saturday, November 14, the western harmony group the Bar G Wranglers performs at 7 p.m.; the Chamber notes that the group also performs shows for veterans. On Sunday, November 15, at 7 p.m., "Why I Believe" features keynote speaker Jennie Taylor, the widow of Maj. Brent Taylor, a Utah Army National Guard officer killed in action in 2018.

Southern Utah University Veterans Day Ceremony (Cedar City)

SUU's annual Veterans Day ceremony runs 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, November 11, in the Eccles Music Center Concert Hall on campus. The university says it honors 11 veterans drawn from its student population, its ROTC program and the local community. The SUU Veterans Center organizes it, and it is free.

Free Entry to Zion on Veterans Day

The National Park Service waives entrance fees at Zion and other fee-charging national parks on Veterans Day. The waiver covers the entrance fee only, so other fees, such as Angels Landing permits and camping, still apply. Veterans and Gold Star families can also get a free lifetime pass for year-round entry. See our Zion free entrance days guide for the details. If you are going up in mid-November, check when the Zion shuttle stops for winter first.

U.S. Navy Band Commodores at Tuacahn (Nov. 14)

The weekend after Veterans Day, the U.S. Navy Band Commodores, the Navy's premier jazz ensemble, play the outdoor Tuacahn Amphitheatre in Ivins on Saturday, November 14, at 7 p.m. Tuacahn lists the concert as free and open to the public, but you need to reserve tickets in advance. Bring warm layers; the canyon cools quickly after dark in November.

Is School in Session on Veterans Day?

Yes, in Washington County. The Washington County School District's 2026-27 calendar does not list November 11 as a no-school day. The district's next days off are November 25–27 for Thanksgiving and Monday, November 30, a teacher prep day. Veterans Day is a federal holiday, so federal offices are closed. Hours for banks, state and local offices vary, so check before you go.
