What is Staheli Family Farm?
Staheli Family Farm is a working family farm at 3400 S Washington Fields Rd in Washington, Utah, farmed by the same family since 1892. On about 40 acres it grows crops and raises beef cattle, and it opens to visitors for seasonal events, including a fall corn maze, pumpkin patch and the Field of Screams haunted attraction.
The farm traces its start to Swiss immigrants who settled in the Washington Fields in 1892, and the barns, the silo and the fields are still part of a working operation. According to its FAQ, the farm grows corn, pumpkins, hay, vegetables and livestock feed and raises commercial beef cattle. Tens of thousands of people visit each year, most of them in the fall. You may see it called Staheli Farm or Staheli Family Farms; they are the same place. SGWOM is an independent guide and is not affiliated with the farm.

Is Field of Screams too scary for kids?
The farm’s ticket page warns that Field of Screams may be too intense for young children and is not recommended for kids under 12. Families with younger kids can walk the same sets in daylight on the Field of Screams Lights On Tour, held Fridays and Saturdays from 4 to 6 p.m., with the effects turned off.
Field of Screams is the farm's nighttime haunted attraction, with movie-style sets and special effects. Every guest has to accept the farm's waiver before entry, and costume masks are not allowed. See the Field of Screams 2026 event listing for every scare night.

Can you book Staheli Family Farm for weddings or field trips?
Yes. School field trips run in fall and spring from 10 a.m. to noon, cost $5 per student and per parent chaperone, and teachers come free. The wedding venue holds up to 120 guests across a two-story barn, a pasture, a pavilion and a bride’s cottage, and the farm also books birthdays, reunions and corporate events.
- Field trips: two hours of hands-on stations, animals and a snack or lunch break, grouped by grade. Each class may bring two or three parent chaperones; siblings and babies can't come. Book early with the online field trip form, and expect a signed release form.
- Weddings: tables and seating for 120 are included, with a one-hour weekday rehearsal. You can bring your own caterer, DJ and photographer, food trucks are allowed with approval, and event insurance is required. See the farm's wedding page to book the Staheli Family Farm venue.
- Private events: the farm sets aside about 35 of its 40 acres for event use and books birthdays, graduations, reunions, holiday parties and corporate gatherings through its private events page. For other options, see our St. George wedding venues and vendors.
The Silo, Grit + Grind coffee and farm beef
The silo, built in the 1960s, is now the farm store, called the Silo, and in the winter season it sells holiday gifts. For food, the farm lists Grit + Grind Coffee (espresso, cold brew, smoothies and acai bowls), a bakery, Burger Stop Grill, the Feed Lot, a pizza stand, the Get Fried truck and a lemonade stand, plus kettle corn in the fall. The farm sells its own locally raised beef online through Barn2Door, linked as Buy Beef on its website.
Tips for visiting
- Pick your time by age: young kids get the most out of a Friday or Saturday afternoon, when the farmland is open from noon and it's still light. Teens and adults usually come for Field of Screams after 7 p.m.
- Wear closed-toe shoes: much of the farm is dirt paths and grass, so leave sandals at home. Bring a layer for October evenings.
- Strollers work, mostly: they are allowed, but some ground is uneven or unpaved.
- Leave the dog at home: only ADA service animals are allowed.
- Buy ahead: tickets are sold online by date, and Field of Screams runs on select nights only.
- Check before you drive: the farm closes for mud and weather and posts it on its hours page.
