After dark, Staheli Family Farm becomes Field of Screams. The 2026 scare nights are September 18, 19, 24, 25, and 26, and October 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, and 31. Hours are 7 to 10 p.m. on Thursdays and 7 to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. If your kids want to see it but aren't ready for the full scare, the Lights On Tour runs from 4 to 6 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Odyssey Dance Theatre's Thriller (Tuacahn, Ivins)
For something spooky but not scary, Thriller returns to Tuacahn Amphitheatre October 28-31. The show is a Halloween dance revue with zombies, mummies, and classic monsters, set in the red rock canyon in Ivins. Evening shows start at 7:30 p.m. The canyon gets chilly after dark in late October, so bring blankets.
Trunk-or-Treats and Kid-Friendly Halloween Events
Scarecrow Walk & Haunted Canyon at Red Hills Desert Garden (St. George)
The easiest free Halloween outing in town is the Scarecrow Walk & Haunted Canyon at Red Hills Desert Garden, 375 E Red Hills Pkwy. Local families, schools and businesses build the scarecrows that line the garden paths, and after dark the slot canyon at the back of the garden becomes a gently spooky Haunted Canyon. It's open nightly from 5 to 10 p.m., October 7 through October 31, it's free, and it takes about half an hour. The Washington County Water Conservancy District puts it on. Go early in the evening with toddlers; the canyon section is darker and louder later.
Utah Tech Tricks & Treats Night (St. George)
Utah Tech University's Tricks & Treats Night is Wednesday, October 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Palm Street, with the pumpkin walk set up in front of Burns Arena. It's free and open to everyone. Kids trick-or-treat at candy booths run by campus clubs and departments, there's a live pumpkin carving, games, and a costume fashion show at 5:30, 6 and 6:30 p.m. Bring your own bag or bucket. Parking is easiest in the lots off 700 East and 100 South.
Spook-track-ular at Thunder Junction (St. George)
Spook-track-ular runs October 27-30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thunder Junction All-Abilities Park. It includes a haunted train ride, trick-or-treat stations, a dessert walk, a pumpkin guessing contest, and a craft station. Tickets are $8 per person, and kids 2 and under get in free. Tickets go on sale Monday, September 28, at 10 a.m. They are limited and non-refundable, so set a reminder.
Washington City Trunk or Treat
The Washington City Trunk or Treat is Monday, October 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the parking lot of the Washington City Community Center, 350 N Community Center Dr. It's an easy, well-lit option for toddlers and early-elementary kids.
Hurricane Fall Fest
Hurricane Fall Fest is Saturday, October 24, from 4 to 9 p.m., outdoors at the Hurricane Community Center, 63 S 100 W. It's the city's annual family autumn celebration. Hurricane is also a good stop before an afternoon drive into Zion's fall colors.
Trick-or-Treat Street at Black Hill Event Venue (St. George)
New this year: Trick-or-Treat Street at Black Hill Event Venue, 84 W 1470 S #4, is a free indoor Halloween event on Thursday, October 29, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The venue has announced mad-scientist experiments, pumpkin carving, face painting, games and prizes, and a coloring corner. Halloween Day: Utah Tech's Dark Mode Game
If your Halloween afternoon is free, Utah Tech hosts Idaho State at Greater Zion Stadium on Saturday, October 31, at 1 p.m. The university is calling it the Halloween Dark Mode Game, so expect the team in black and fans in costume. It wraps up in time for neighborhood trick-or-treating.

Road Trip: The Cedar City Sheep Parade
One of the most unusual fall traditions in Utah is an hour up I-15. At the Cedar Livestock & Heritage Festival, October 23-25, ranchers drive roughly 1,000 sheep down Cedar City's Main Street, from 200 South to 400 North, as the flock moves from its summer range on Cedar Mountain to winter pasture in the valley. The parade starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday with antique tractors, farm machinery, and horses, and the sheep come last. Last year they reached Main Street around 11 a.m., so grab a curb spot early and stay until the end. The rest of the weekend includes antique tractor and draft horse pulls, a ranch rodeo, sheep shearing demonstrations, a Dutch oven cook-off tasting, cowboy poetry and music, a quilt show, and a kids' pedal tractor pull.
