By SGWOM Editorial Team Published Last updated

Locals say "the Ledges" to mean two things: the golf course on the bluffs above St. George, and the neighborhoods of homes and vacation rentals around it. This guide covers both. It explains what the course is like, how to book a tee time and save on green fees, where to stay and eat, how to get there, and what to know before buying a home in the community. We checked every fact below against The Ledges' own website on October 8, 2026.

What is The Ledges in St. George, Utah?

The Ledges is a golf and residential community on the north side of St. George, Utah, two minutes from the north entrance of Snow Canyon State Park. It is built around The Ledges Golf Club, a 7,200-yard, par 72 course designed by Matt Dye, with homes, vacation rentals and the Fish Rock Grille.

The Ledges calls itself a resort community, and it works on three levels. Golfers come for the course and the clubhouse. Visitors rent furnished homes and villas there and use it as a base for Snow Canyon, Tuacahn and the national parks. Residents live in a set of neighborhoods with their own pools and HOA rules, sold through Ledges Realty. The restaurant and the course are open to anyone. SGWOM is an independent local guide and is not affiliated with The Ledges.

What is The Ledges golf course like?

The Ledges Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 72 course that plays 7,190 yards from the black tees and 5,132 from the red, across five sets of tees. The club describes red rock backdrops and views of Snow Canyon State Park, and its clubhouse overlooks the 18th hole.

If you searched "ledges golf st george" and want to know how it plays: the club highlights its red rock backdrops and its views across Snow Canyon State Park, so the scenery is a large part of the round. The five tee sets span more than 2,000 yards, from 7,190 to 5,132, so the same course can be a stiff test from the black tees or a manageable round for a newer golfer from the silver or red.

Practice facility and clubhouse

The practice area has a full-length turf driving range with targets from 50 to 300 yards, a synthetic turf tee line that lets players hit balls on frosty winter mornings, and two practice putting greens, one grass and one synthetic. Range balls are included for warm-up before a round; to practice without playing, buy the $20 range pass (two-hour limit). The range opens an hour before the first tee time and closes at dusk. The clubhouse has a golf shop, the 19th Hole Bar and the Fish Rock Grille, with a patio looking toward Snow Canyon. The dress code is short: shoes and shirts at all times, and no swimwear on the course or range.

Can the public play The Ledges Golf Club?

Yes. You do not need to live at The Ledges or hold a membership to book a round. The club takes tee times online through ledges.com or by phone at (435) 634-4600, and it sells stay-and-play packages to visitors. Washington County residents can also buy a Club 72 pass for discounted green fees.

  • Club 72 (Washington County residents): the 2027 pass costs $199 and runs January 1 to December 31, 2027. It includes 20% off green fees, 10% off golf shop merchandise and league membership. The discount can't be combined with other promotions or the Super Twilight rate. See ledges.com/club-72.
  • Vacation rental guests: $10 off per player for morning rounds when the tee time is booked through the rental office.
  • Homeowners: The Ledges says its homeowner discount card includes 10% off green fees, Fish Rock Grille and regularly priced golf shop merchandise.

How do you book a tee time at The Ledges?

Book online from the tee time button on ledges.com or call the golf shop at (435) 634-4600. The club says tee times can be reserved up to 120 days ahead and are paid when you book. Cancel at least 48 hours before your tee time for a full refund; later cancellations and no-shows are not refunded.

  • Twilight: the club warns that twilight tee times are not guaranteed to finish all 18 holes, which matters on short winter days.
  • Rainchecks: if severe weather stops play, rainchecks are valid for two years and are prorated by how many holes you played; none are issued after 16 holes.
  • Busy season: winter brings snowbirds and visiting golfers to St. George, so book well ahead for January through March weekends. Read the full policy on the tee time page.

How much does it cost to play The Ledges?

The Ledges does not publish its green fees on its website, so check the price on the online tee sheet when you choose a time, or call the golf shop at (435) 634-4600. Its Club 72 terms also mention a separate Super Twilight rate.

Third-party golf sites list a range of past prices for The Ledges, but none of them is the club, and we could not confirm any of them. Treat the online tee sheet as the real price, and remember the discounts above: Club 72 for county residents, the rental-guest morning discount, and the stay-and-play packages for visitors.
