What is Zion Canyon Brewing?

Zion Canyon Brewing Company was the original name of Zion Brewery, whose flagship Zion Canyon Brew Pub sits at 95 Zion Park Boulevard in Springdale, Utah, just south of the Zion National Park entrance. It pours its own ales with a scratch-made pub menu, a canyon-view patio and an attached tavern.

You will see the place under several names. The brewery started out as Zion Canyon Brewing Company and later shortened its name to Zion Brewery. Its website still calls the business Zion Canyon Brewery, the restaurant is the Zion Canyon Brew Pub (or Zion Brew Pub), and the bar next door is the Zion Brewery Tavern. All of these names refer to the same spot at the park entrance.

The brewery has a second location in St. George, the Station II Bar taproom on Main Street, and Zion Brewery beers are also on tap at other bars and restaurants around Southern Utah. Contact details are on our Zion Canyon Brew Pub listing.

Where is Zion Canyon Brewing and how do you get there?

The brew pub is at 95 Zion Park Blvd, Springdale, UT 84767, at the north end of Springdale and just south of the Zion National Park entrance. Its patio looks out on the canyon walls and the Virgin River.

  • From inside the park: walk out through the pedestrian and bike entrance by the Zion Canyon Visitor Center. The brew pub is a short walk away.
  • By shuttle: the free Springdale shuttle line runs through town to Zion Canyon Village (Stop 1), at the park’s pedestrian entrance. The National Park Service runs it daily from March through November and over the late-December holidays. Buses come every 10 to 15 minutes.
  • By car: Springdale is on State Route 9, about an hour from St. George by way of Hurricane and LaVerkin. See our directions to Zion National Park.
  • Parking: the town of Springdale and individual businesses run the parking in town, and most of it is paid. In busy seasons, park where you are staying and take the shuttle.

What to eat and drink

The house beers are poured by the taster, pint, mug or pitcher, and the server can tell you which seasonal beer is on. The current menu lists these year-round beers:

  • Ultralight: the brewery’s lightest beer, about 100 calories a pint
  • Engel Landen Pilsner: light and crisp, with an earthy, herbal hop character
  • Kinesava Kölsch: light, crisp and refreshing
  • Ascender Hefeweizen: hazy German-style wheat beer with banana and a touch of clove
  • Springdale Amber: toasted malt with a slight fruit note
  • Zion Forever Pale Ale: an American pale ale with citrus and pine hops
  • Echo Canyon IPA: tropical hop aroma with piney bitterness
  • Juicy IPA: a New England-style IPA with low bitterness and a soft mouthfeel
  • Burnt Mountain Brown: dried fruit, brown malt and pecan; the menu lists a 2022 Great American Beer Festival silver medal for American-style brown ale

Zion Brewery’s beer page also lists a Red Altar red ale, a Foray Pomegranate sour and a nitro stout brewed with coffee from River Rock Roasting Company. These may not be on tap every day. Utah caps draft beer at 5% alcohol by volume, so anything stronger comes in cans or bottles. The brew pub also serves wine by the glass, flavored lemonades and soft drinks. The tavern adds signature cocktails.

The food is made from scratch, and every dish on the menu lists a suggested beer pairing. The main sections are:

  • Appetizers: pub pretzel sticks with beer cheese, loaded pub fries, IPA-sriracha wings, a brewers’ board, house hummus and the pub chili.
  • Burgers and sandwiches: the Zion Brew Burger, a locally sourced elk burger, a buffalo meatloaf burger, a vegan Impossible burger, a house quinoa burger, a chicken club and a pastrami Reuben.
  • Entrées: buffalo meatloaf, bangers and mash, fish and chips, blackened salmon, pub tacos, pasta and a stuffed portobello.
  • Salads, sides and desserts: build-your-own salads, onion rings and fries, plus s’mores bread pudding, a brownie and a seasonal cheesecake.
  • Kids: chicken fingers, grilled cheese, mac and cheese and a snack plate.

Springdale restaurants are busiest in the spring and fall and on holiday weekends, when the most people visit Zion. The dinner hour after the main hiking day is the busiest time. For a shorter wait, come for a late lunch or arrive early in the evening. The brew pub also hosts live music and events through the year.

Planning your day: before or after Zion National Park

  • After a hike: the brew pub opens at 11:30 AM. You can walk out of the park for lunch and go back in on the same day, as long as you keep your entrance pass. See our Zion fees and passes guide.
  • Shuttle timing: if you rode the shuttle in, check when the last Springdale bus runs before you settle in for dinner.
  • Driving back: Utah’s DUI limit is 0.05 blood alcohol, the lowest in the country, and the road back to Hurricane or St. George is a dark two-lane highway. Pick a driver or stay in Springdale.
  • Summer heat: Springdale summers are hot. Drink water along with the beer, especially after a long day on the trail.
