Washington City Veterans Day Parade and Program

Pearl Harbor and USS Utah Remembrance

Washington City holds its Pearl Harbor and U.S.S. Utah Remembrance on Monday, December 7, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Heritage Hall, 50 N Main St. The Washington City Council passed a special resolution commemorating the USS Utah, which the city calls the "Forgotten Ship" of World War II, and memorial events now take place every year on Pearl Harbor Day at 5 p.m. The city invites residents to come honor the ship and mark the date on their calendars. Heritage Hall is the renovated Old Gym at the northeast corner of Telegraph and Main. It was built in 1922 as an addition to the original pioneer-era schoolhouse, with a lava rock foundation and sandstone walls, and was remodeled in 2024 as a cultural arts and community gathering space. The city has not posted a detailed program for this year, so check the Washington City calendar for updates. A month earlier, the city honors local veterans at its Veterans Day parade and program on November 11.

Washington City New Year's Eve Fireworks

Washington City celebrates the arrival of the new year with a fireworks show at 10 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2026. The Washington City Community Center building is closed that night, but the city says its parking lot at 350 N Community Center Dr and the nearby softball complex offer the best view in town. Because the show starts at 10 p.m. rather than midnight, it is an option for families with younger children who want to see fireworks without staying up for the countdown.
