Southwest Symphony: A Night at the Oscars with Eric Rigler

The Southwest Symphony presents A Night at the Oscars with Eric Rigler on Friday and Saturday, October 23 and 24, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at the America First Performing Arts Center, 325 S 700 E in St. George. A pre-show starts at 7 p.m. on Friday only; there is no Saturday pre-show. Rigler, whom the symphony calls the world's most recorded uilleann piper and whistler, played on the soundtracks of Braveheart and Titanic and has a 50-year career that includes performing "Amazing Grace" at President Reagan's funeral. The program features film music from Academy Award-winning scores: a tribute to John Williams, music from Last of the Mohicans, the love theme from Titanic, an Avatar suite, music from The Godfather, Star Wars themes, "Gonna Fly Now" from Rocky, Out of Africa, "Concerning Hobbits" from The Fellowship of the Ring, the end credits from Braveheart and a How to Train Your Dragon suite. The concert is sponsored by Abe Ashton and Associates. Tickets are sold through the symphony's website. For other things to do that weekend, see our pumpkin patches and Halloween events guide.
