In-N-Out Burger, South St. George
St. George's own In-N-Out opened on August 14, 2026, at 4643 S Pioneer Rd, at the Sun River Parkway interchange on the south end of town. It is the chain's second Washington County restaurant after the Washington City location on Telegraph Street, and the southernmost In-N-Out in Utah. The company's opening announcement lists one drive-thru lane, indoor seating for 84 and a covered patio for 76, a crew of about 40 associates at a $17.50 starting wage, and a manager, Jared Deadder, with 14 years at the company. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 1:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday, which makes it one of the few late-night options in St. George. The drive-thru line backs up at lunch and after high school football; the counter inside is usually faster. Our St. George burger guide compares it with the local smash-burger spots.
Cafe Rio Returns to Its Roots on Pioneer Road
Cafe Rio started in St. George in 1997 at 15 S River Rd, and in July 2026 it opened a second city restaurant two doors from the new In-N-Out at 4609 S Pioneer Rd. The grand opening on Friday, July 10 featured a ribbon cutting on a four-foot burrito, with merchandise and a free entrée for the first 100 guests. What sets this one apart is the dining room: a custom mural of the Southern Utah landscape by Utah artist Josh Scheuerman, the 62nd mural he has painted for the brand. The menu is the same sweet pork, tortillas pressed to order and lime-cilantro rice you get at the River Road original and the Santa Clara store.
Mint Indian Bistro Near Red Cliffs Mall
Mint Indian Bistro is the fourth restaurant from a Las Vegas group established in 2008, and the first outside Nevada. It is at 918 N 2720 E, east of I-15 near Red Cliffs Mall, and it is already open for lunch and dinner. The St. George location is à la carte only; the all-you-can-eat lunch buffet the Las Vegas stores are known for is not offered here. The menu covers curries, biryanis, tandoori dishes and naan, with vegetarian and vegan options, Zabiha-certified halal meats, and a lassi bar. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and closed Tuesday. The grand opening and Chamber ribbon cutting is Tuesday, October 13, at 4 p.m., followed by a free open-house dinner in one-hour seatings from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m.; reservations are required and were filling fast as of this writing. Phone: (435) 288-1542.
Hurricane: Canyon Eatery, Looped Bagels and a Culver's on the Way
Canyon Eatery, at 495 E 800 N near the LaVerkin bridge in Hurricane, is an upscale-casual Italian-leaning restaurant with fresh pasta, pizza, steaks, seafood and a cocktail lounge. Its own menu lists a spicy vodka rigatoni, spaghetti with Utah wild-game meatballs and a wild mushroom and truffle pizza. It is open Tuesday through Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., takes reservations through OpenTable, and can be reached at (435) 366-2904. It fills a gap: Hurricane has had few sit-down dinner options between the fast-casual strip on State Street and the resort restaurants closer to Zion.
Looped Bagels, a family-owned shop at 1141 W State St Ste 7, makes East Coast-style boiled bagels and has opened with limited Friday and Saturday morning hours, 7 a.m. to noon. Expect those hours to expand; check the shop's site before you drive out.
Culver's is building on the former Buck's Ace Hardware site at 489 W State St, in front of Hurricane High School. The Hurricane Planning Commission approved the final site plan in March 2026, and the locally owned franchise's job postings point to a November opening. It will be the first Culver's in Washington County outside St. George.
